2024 Executive Council Call for Nominations

All eligible voting members of HFES are encouraged to participate in this year’s nominations and election cycle. We are seeking nominations for President-Elect, Secretary-Treasurer-Elect, and Two Members-at-Large of the Executive Council.  The call for nominations closed at 5:00 PM Eastern Time on May 15, 2024.

To Nominate Someone or to Self-Nominate

  • Confirm with those you wish to nominate that they are eligible, willing to be nominated, and would serve if elected before you submit your nomination.  Self-nomination is permitted
  • Submit the online nomination ballot no later than 5:00 PM Eastern Time on May 15, 2024
  • Members who have any barriers related to the use of an online nomination form should contact HFES Executive Director Steven Kemp at skemp@hfes.org for accommodation

Minimum Number of Nominations Required

A minimum number of nominations is required for one to appear on the ballot (a self-nomination counts).

  • Five (5) for President-Elect
  • Three (3) for Secretary-Treasurer-Elect
  • Three (3) for Executive Council Member-at-Large-Elect

Receiving the minimum number of nominations does not guarantee the nominee will be on the ballot. Only those with the most nominations, as indicated below, will appear on the ballot:

  • For President-Elect: the three (3) persons who receive the greatest number of nominations
  • For Secretary-Treasurer-Elect:  the three (3) persons who receive the greatest number of nominations
  • For At-Large Executive Council (2 open positions): the six (6) persons who receive the greatest number of nominations

Again, While one must receive a minimum number of nominations, those with the most nominations will appear on the ballot as noted above.  The greater the number of nominations, the greater one's probability to appear on the ballot. Encourage your nominee(s) to acquire as many nominations as possible to increase their likelihood of making it onto the election ballot.
