Certification

Certification has become increasingly important in the ergonomics/human factors practitioner field. Many employers seek to hire a Certified Professional Ergonomist, knowing that the job candidate has a recognized baseline of knowledge and competence.  In a crowded field of practitioners, Board certified individuals distinguish themselves from others.

A professional certification credential demonstrates that an individual has met a high level of expertise, professional knowledge, and experience in the field of ergonomics/human factors to employers, clients, and peers. Certification signifies a commitment to continued excellence in professional practice.  It builds professional credibility and trust, helps to protect consumers, and validates quality expertise with those outside the profession.
