Important Information
Rule changes approved by the Executive Council in September 2024 include:
- All individuals who meet the minimum number of nominations required will be placed on the ballot
- A single candidate may appear on the ballot should no other eligible candidates be nominated
- Ranked choice voting will be used
The Executive Council also approved a new goal to increase diversity in that, when possible, one candidate for at-large Executive Council member will be from the Academic category and one from the Practitioner category:
- Academic Category: Individuals whose primary professional role is, or has been, within a college or university. Candidates in this category typically hold or have held positions as professors, researchers or administrators
- Practitioner Category: Individuals whose primary professional role is, or has been, in industry, consulting, government or the military
- If no candidates surface in one of the above categories, all candidates from the other category will appear on the ballot
