After checking in at registration, attendees will visit the Ribbon Kiosk to select from over 50 ribbons associated with HFES committees & certifications, as well as fun ribbons that showcase their personality, role, or interests! Lightning lesson presentations are short form talks giving speakers seven minutes with a limited number of PowerPoint slides. These sessions will be held during coffee breaks on October 14-16. This day-long session is for PhD students expected to graduate within two years of the colloquium. Topics will include obtaining an academic position, working in academia, expectations for promotion and tenure, mentoring, and other areas.
