9th HFES ErgoX Symposium Convenes in Washington, D.C. October 23, 2023

The 9th ErgoX Symposium will be held immediately before the 67th Annual Meeting of HFES in Washington, DC at the Washington Hilton Hotel. The symposium will take place Monday, Oct. 23, 2023. ErgoX will address the demand for safe and effective technology development found through multi-disciplinary and cross-market collaboration of cognitive and physical research and their resulting application to end-user technology adoption.
We are thrilled to have as our keynote presenter John Howard, MD, MPH, JD, LLM, MBA. Dr. Howard serves as the Director of the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health and the Administrator of the World Trade Center Health Program in the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services. He first served as Director of NIOSH from 2002 through 2008, and again from 2009 to 2015. He was re-appointed to a third six-year term in 2015 and a fourth six-year term in 2021. Prior to his appointment as Director of NIOSH, Dr. Howard served as Chief of the Division of Occupational Safety and Health in the California Department of Industrial Relations, Labor and Workforce Development Agency.
Featuring four educational tracks - Cybersecurity, Exoskeletons, Robotics, and Extended Reality, attendees will:

First held in 2015 and over time formalizing into a user-centered design meeting in 2018, the primary goal of the HFES ErgoX Symposium is to improve safe and effective technology user adoption. ErgoX showcases the latest in technology evolution, research, and application and their intersection with human-system interaction and integration.
