Introducing HFES Regional Meetings

On Friday, April 11, 2025, HFES is launching a new initiative: Regional Meetings. These concurrent, one-day, in-person gatherings are designed to bring HF/E professionals together for impactful programming and networking opportunities closer to home. These five pilot events will take place in key regions across the U.S., allowing for greater accessibility to the benefits of face-to-face collaboration, typically found only at the HFES Annual Meeting.

What to Expect

• Dynamic Programming: Engage in sessions tailored to regional interests and challenges in the HF/E field
• Networking Opportunities: Connect with peers, share insights, and spark collaborations within your local community
• Cost-Effective Participation: Spend less time traveling and more time connecting with other professionals
• A Keynote Address on Friendship, Careers in Academia and Industry and Service to HFES - See More

Locations for 2025

1. Western Region – San Jose, CA
2. Southern Region – Houston, TX
3. Midwest Region – West Lafayette, IN
4. Southeast Region – Atlanta, GA
5. Northeast Region – Washington, DC

Why These Regions?

We aim to launch regional initiatives to strengthen the community and advance the HF/E discipline across diverse geographies by fostering regional connections. This pilot effort is limited by the locations and number of volunteers helping lead the regional efforts. HF/E seeks to bridge the gap for HF/E professionals who need access to local programming, and the hope is that we expand this to cover more regions around the globe. 1. Help us spread the word. Share the enthusiasm with your HF/E colleagues. 
2. Help support the meeting via sponsorship. Do you work for an employer that can sponsor the event, facility, food, snacks, etc.? Do you want to help us find sponsors? Please reach out! 
3. Volunteer to help us run the event. We will need people to help us set up the location, registration desk, etc. This is a great way to give back to your local HF/E community!
