Want to Learn about the Leadership of HFES and Attend the HFES Executive Council Mid-Year Meeting?
The HFES Executive Council has developed a new program where three members are invited to participate in the Executive Council meeting at the Society's mid-year and annual meetings. The next opportunity is at the mid-year meeting at the 2019 Health Care Symposium in Chicago, IL. This is part of a large effort led by the HFES Leadership Development Committee to promote professional development of potential leaders in HFES. The new Leadership Development Committee is driving the effort to support individuals in their journeys to become leaders within their profession and, more specifically, to foster future leaders in HFES. This special opportunity will give you a lead on developing connections with members of the Executive Council and other HF/E leaders. Selected attendees will have the opportunity to be involved in all discussions, provide feedback, and will be mentored throughout the meeting by Executive Council members. The selected mentees will arrive at the conference on Friday (March 22) to attend an orientation that evening and attend the Executive Council meetings on Saturday and Sunday (March 23 and 24). HFES has committed to covering expenses for airfare, hotel, and food on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Criteria: Emergent leaders interested in this opportunity will need to be in good standing as a student, transitional, or full HFES member (for less than five years) to submit self-nominations. Nomination submissions on behalf of others are also accepted. Each nomination should be sent by email and include a short paragraph on why the nominee is a good candidate for this program.
HFES will cover roundtrip advanced purchase economy class travel to the midyear Executive Council meeting over the weekend March 22 – 24 , 2019, i.e., HFES will reimburse the selected individuals' airfare, three nights lodging, and food for Friday, Saturday and Sunday. Expenses associated with participation in the Health Care Symposium are not covered and registration fees would need to be remitted should the selected individuals wish to attend the educational sessions.
Nominations will be reviewed by the Leadership Development Committee who will select three members to invite to the Executive Council meeting. Please submit nominations by January 25, 2019 to HFES Leadership Development Committee Co-Chairs Nancy Daraiseh Nancy.Daraiseh@cchmc.org or Chris Brill email@example.com.
Thank you for considering this opportunity.
