Want to understand the leadership of HFES and attend the HFES Executive Council Annual meeting?
The Executive Council has developed a new program where three members are invited to participate in the executive council meeting at the annual and mid-year meetings. The next opportunity is during the HFES 63rd International Annual Meeting in Seattle, Washington, USA. This is part of a large effort lead by the HFES Leadership Development Committee to promote professional development of potential leaders in HFES. The Leadership Development Committee is leading the effort to support individuals in their efforts to become leaders within their profession and, more specifically, to foster future leaders in HFES. This special opportunity will give you a lead on developing connections with members of the EC and other leaders. Selected attendees will have the opportunity to be involved in all discussions, provide feedback, and will be mentored throughout the meeting by EC members. The selected mentees will arrive at the conference on Friday (October 25) to attend an orientation that evening and attend the council meeting on Saturday and Sunday (October 26 and 27). HFES has committed to covering expenses for hotel and food on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
Emergent leaders interested in this opportunity will need to be in good standing as a student, transitional, or full HFES member (for less than 5 years) to submit nominations. Submissions on behalf of others are also accepted. Each nomination should be sent by email and include a short paragraph on why the nominee is a good candidate for this program. Travel expenses during the meeting (over the weekend) will be covered by HFES. Attendance to the conference will not be covered including registration, airfare, and hotel/food starting Monday. Nominations will be reviewed by the Leadership Development Committee where 3 members will be selected and invited to the Executive Council meeting. Please submit nominations by September 5th to Nancy Daraiseh Nancy.Daraiseh@cchmc.org and Chris Brill firstname.lastname@example.org who are the co-chairs of the Leadership Development Committee.
