Introducing the HFES Library of Human Factors/Ergonomics White Papers, Technical Reports, and Industry Briefs

Last year, the White Paper Dissemination Task Force (WPDTF) was formed to make it easier for practitioners, researchers, designers, academics, and even non-members to share perspectives and resources. Our goal? To connect ideas, not just archive them.

We’re excited to announce that the HFES Library of Human Factors/Ergonomics White Papers, Technical Reports, and Industry Briefs is now live! This is your central hub for:

  • Exploring human factors white papers, technical reports, and industry briefs.
  • Submitting your own work to share with the community.
  • Connecting with authors and sparking meaningful discussions.

You may have seen our ASPIRE poster or attended our panel session, Make it Practical: An HFES Resource for the Everyday Practitioner.” Now, you can put that vision into action.

Why Dive In?

This isn’t just a repository—it’s a collaboration engine. Here’s how you can make the most of it:

  • Discover thought-provoking papers and share them with your Technical Group via HFES Connect
  • Host a virtual discussion around a paper’s topic
  • Invite authors to TG meetings or ASPIRE panels
  • Respond with your own perspective paper and submit it here
  • Create new research and innovations building upon the ideas you encounter in the library

Want to Contribute?

We’re looking for papers that:

  • Are non-commercial and freely accessible
  • Offer general value to the HF/E community
  • Go beyond a single experiment and provide broader insights

Submit your papers using our submission form.

You can also volunteer with your Technical Group to help review submissions and ensure quality.
