What content will be available for HFES members?
The Digital Library-Archive is a member benefit, providing free access to the back volumes of these four titles. (A fifth HFES periodical, Journal of Cognitive Engineering and Decision Making, is available to members at a reduced subscription rate; see the information page for this title.)
First, select your delivery preference for Human Factors and Ergonomics in Design for 2010: print only (free), online only (free), or print plus online ($50 and $30, respectively).
By the end of 2010, the Digital Library-Archive will include content going back to each publication's first issue.
When will the Digital Library be available?
The Digital Library opened in October 2007.
What are the terms of use?
Access is granted to members for personal use only.
Content may not be distributed to others without permission from HFES, nor may personal login details be provided to nonmember/nonsubscribers for the purpose of accessing content without permission or subscription.
Misuse of access or content is grounds for termination of access.
How can I access the Digital Library content?
The Digital Library is hosted on IngentaConnect. Instructions for registering for access are on your HFES online member record. Simply log in with your member username and password and click "Online Subscription Registration" to download a PDF file with instructions. The Ingenta registration process is simple: You will create an Ingenta username and enter your HFES member ID number as the password. When HFES turns on access (1-2 business days after registration), you will be able to access all content to which your membership entitles you.
What if I discontinue my membership in HFES?
This is a member benefit for current members of HFES. As long as you remain a member, you will have access to the content. You will also receive a CD-ROM containing the articles for the current year's issues at the end of each volume of Human Factors and Ergonomics in Design. If your membership lapses, so does your access to the Digital Library-Archive. However as a nonmember, you may purchase the Digital Library-Archive and/or subscribe to the most current volumes that are available in the Digital Library-Current.
Whom should I contact if I have additional questions?
