Why is login required for purchases or access to member privileges?
Login is required for both members and nonmembers. This enables HFES to better
serve you.
If you're a member, logging in enables you to maintain your membership record,
look up other members, and take advantage of other members-only privileges (go
to the Membership section for
details).
If you're a nonmember who has purchased HFES publications, login enables you to
view the status of your order.
Member Login
If you don't know your username and password contact
HFES
Your initial username will be your last name (not case sensitive), or your
lastname plus a numeral, and your initial password is your five-digit
HFES membership ID number. This ID number appears on the mailing label affixed
to publications you receive, such as the HFES Bulletin and Ergonomics in Design.
You may change your username and password anytime once you have logged in.
The first time you log in, you must complete your Login Profile by providing a
Hint Question and Hint Answer. You may also change your username and password
on this page. Save your changes, and then select your desired action from the
Welcome page.
NOTE: Passwords are case sensitive.
Customer Login
Create the username and password of your choice. You may change your password at
any time. (Again, the username is not case sensitive, but the password is
case sensitive).
If you'd like to join HFES, please go to How to
Join HFES.
Duplicate Usernames
If you enter your last name in the "Username" field and receive an error
message, it may be that our database already contains one or more users with
your same last name. If that occurs, please contact HFES at 310/394-1811 or
write to membership@hfes.org to obtain
your existing username.
