Ergonomics in Design

Stuart-Buttle Named Editor of EID

Stuart-Buttle

HFES is pleased to announce the appointment of Carol Stuart-Buttle, MS, CPE, MErgS, as incoming editor of Ergonomics in Design. She is a consultant in ergonomics and principal at Stuart-Buttle Ergonomics in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Since 1987, Stuart-Buttle has worked with corporations representing a broad spectrum of products and services, as well as nonprofit organizations and government entities. She has chaired the American Industrial Hygiene Association's Ergonomics Committee and the HFES Outreach Advisory Committee, as well as serving HFES as secretary-treasurer and Executive Council member at large. Stuart-Buttle was a director of the Board of Certification in Professional Ergonomics for eight years. Prior to starting SBE, she worked at the Essex Corporation.

"EID is a great quarterly and I feel privileged to have the opportunity to work with it," Stuart-Buttle said. "I hope to bring out more theme-based issues that, over time, will build a useful archive of information for the practitioner. In addition, each issue will aim to explore the different perspectives of the topic, both cognitive and physical. I plan to try and broaden the exposure of the publication to practitioners outside the Society."

Stuart-Buttle begins her term on January 1, 2010.
