HFES Digital Library: 14,000+ Articles at Your Fingertips

The HFES Digital Library continues to grow as more back volumes of the Society's periodicals are digitized and posted online. Back-volume digitizing will be completed in 2010. Meantime, as of November 5, the Digital Library contained 14,693 articles:

• Human Factors: 1,854
• Ergonomics in Design: 615
• HFES Annual Meeting Proceedings: 12,120
• Journal of Cognitive Engineering and Decision Making: 56
• Reviews of Human Factors and Ergonomics: 48

     The vast majority of full-text downloads between January and September 2009 were from Human Factors (more than 15,000), followed by the Annual Meeting Proceedings (10,000+). Abstract views for these publications from the same period are 98,671 and 219,838, respectively. Usage data show that individuals and institutions from around the world are finding human factors/ergonomics content on the Digital Library.

     Relative to the more than 13,000 titles on IngentaConnect, HFES content often ranks in the top 100 for downloads and abstract and table of contents views (most recently in October). Clearly, the Digital Library has become recognized as a valuable database of important research and application in the field.

It's Free for Members; Are You Registered?

     If you are an HFES member and haven't yet registered to access free full-text articles in the Digital Library-Archive, please take a few minutes to sign up. Log in at hfes.org (contact Member Services at membership@hfes.org if you need your username and password), click the link, "Register for my Online Subscriptions," and follow the instructions. HFES will authorize access within 2 business days.

Search the HFES Digital Library

     To find articles by key word in title or author name, go to the main Digital Library page and enter your search terms. Search within a single title or across all HFES titles. (To search all content on IngentaConnect - more than 13,000 publications - go to http://www.ingentaconnect.com.)
