Program: Human factors is not offered as an independent program but as an area of specialization within Brain, Behavior, and Cognitive Sciences. Research is being conducted at a fundamental level and in relation to human performance in aviation and space within the Human Performance in Space Laboratory and in individual laboratories. ADMISSION REQUIREMENTS:
GPA: 3.0. GRE: both general and subject test. Other: TOEFL 250, Michigan English Language Test 92. Honors degree in psychology or equivalent with at least eight two-semester courses in psychology, including two semesters in research design and statistical analysis and two semesters in experimental psychology.

RESEARCH/TEACHING OPPORTUNITIES:
Research facilities: The Human Performance Laboratory has more than 7000 square feet of well-equipped research space with well-staffed mechanical and electronics workshops and good computer and computer-graphic systems. There are specialized devices for recording eye movements and stimulating the human visual-vestibular system. New facilities for an integrated Centre for Vision Research (http://cvr.yorku.ca/) are to be built. Those in the program work closely with the Defense and Civil Institute of Environmental Medicine, which supports ongoing research and development activities in human engineering and aerospace medicine.
