Program: The MS program provides professional degrees in human factors and industrial/organizational psychology for students wishing to pursue careers in these fields. Human factors is concerned with assuring the usability of products through design and testing. Industrial/organizational psychology looks at such issues as employee selection, compensation, leadership, and job satisfaction. The MS program offers specialized training to complement the BS degree in Applied Psychology at ASU Polytechnic.

Research facilities: Faculty labs include Perception & Action Lab (Gray), Cognitive Engineering Lab (Schvaneveldt), Cognitive Engineering Research on Team Tasks Lab (Cooke), Applied Psychophysics and Ecological Simulations Laboratory (Becker), Human-Technology Interaction Lab (Branaghan), and Cognitive Ability and Complex Learning Lab (Sanchez). Local labs include the Mesa Air Force Research Laboratory and the Motorola Human Interface Lab.
